If you are a relative of mine, and you have a son named Joseph, stop reading now.
All others--this is the Joseph Sweater. It is intended to be a first birthday present for Baby Charlie.
It is knit in Knitpicks City Tweed DK, on US 5 needles, and is worked from the bottom up. Not my favorite method of construction, but I find it mentally easier to construct this kind of yoke that way. It's a raglan that eases into a rounded garter yoke.
As you can see here, the body of the sweater is very boxy--raglan seems to naturally want to swing, to me, but I insisted that it rein itself in a bit to indulge young Charlie's growing sense of manliness. Though clearly a girl could pull this off too.
I loved knitting with the City Tweed--I love that it is washable, which makes me forgive the slightly unnatural feel. And my but it is tweedy. I originally had something different in mind, but this is what the yarn wanted to be. It's very bossy.
